As Rapid Mobile's new CFO, Mark Munro brings significant emerging technology experience

Rapid Mobile, a leading developer of intelligent mobile phone monetization and advertising solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Munro as Chief Financial Officer.

Mark brings to Rapid Mobile his extensive experience of the challenging world of emerging technologies and complex finances.

Born in Zimbabwe, Mark began his financial career in South Africa, before moving to the UK in 1987. He joined the nascent European arm of Aldus (later Adobe), creators of the famous PageMaker application, to become Financial Director and finally Operations Director Europe, overseeing nine divisions and a $300 million turnover at a time when the European segment was achieving a third of the company's global revenue.

In 1999 Mark chose to begin a second career working with successful start-up companies. He spent the next seven years providing vital support to Aspects Software Limited, a mobile phone software company, Acuid Corporation, a memory test company, Polaroid, and MicroEmissive Displays Limited, a micro-display start-up, before moving to Rapid Mobile.

Of his decision to join Rapid Mobile, Mark says he is keen to work with a completely new sector:

"Working in a small start-up company gives you the chance to touch the business in many ways. You have to be prepared for change, to get yourself into a position where you can adapt to changing circumstances and, crucially, capitalise on them. Rapid Mobile offers me a real opportunity to build something quite special."

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
